Artist Research-Bill Viola-The Raft-Living Image Photography

From the outset, its important to state that the context of this artist research is not the actual video itself, or its contents that is. But the idea of using film and moving image photography, or film, to capture my effects.

In today's world, we produce our stories in the medium of film. Its the way that we tell the world the tales of our generation. We do of course, still use books, but film is the primary visual medium that we use to convey the tales of our world.

In terms of how this fits with my project, I find the idea of using film attractive, its something i'm good at and i've had a lot of experience with before, therefore it would be a logical expansion to the project. I'm going to look at some screenplays of films that have taken Fairy Tales and made them into modern day films. Starting with Snow White and the Huntsman and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. These are both strong re-incarnations of the original tales.
